Using Bel Mondo Bio Cellulose Masks after a chemical peel

Chemical peels are a popular technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical peel uses a solution to exfoliate and peel off dry, dead skin, leaving behind younger-looking, rejuvenated skin. This process is often used to treat wrinkles, scars, crow’s feet, and skin discoloration.

There are varying degrees of chemical peels, ranging from a mild – or superficial – peel that heals quickly, to a more aggressive, deep peel, that penetrates to the middle layer of the skin to remove damaged cells. A deep peel takes longer to heal, and can only be performed on the face once.

Bio cellulose masks after a chemical peel can help with healing

For each type of chemical peel available, there is a protocol – not just for the peel itself, but for the healing process after the peel.

While a superficial peel usually takes less than one week to completely heal, a deep peel can take several weeks. And with each type of peel there may be prescription creams and/or ointments, as well as other medications to aid in the healing process and prevent infection.

One thing that’s consistent with all types of chemical peel is that the skin needs to be kept moisturized. That’s where a Bel Mondo bio cellulose sheet mask comes in.

Bio cellulose is frequently used to treat wounds, because it’s natural, free of toxins and petrochemicals, and it can retain 100 times its dry weight in fluid. After a chemical peel, skin is essentially “wounded” – it will take time for the skin to heal and regenerate. The “new” skin will be healthier and look better, but it needs to be cared for accordingly – and allowed to heal properly.

Because a Bel Mondo mask is designed to fit like a second skin – keeping the bio cellulose fabric and the high-quality ingredients in close contact with the skin at all times, it is the perfect companion to a chemical peel. Bel Mondo masks are soothing and super-hydrating, and you never have to worry about the mask drying out or the moisture evaporating while wearing it. And while we recommend a 20 minute treatment, a Bel Mondo bio cellulose mask can be worn longer, as it retains its moisture long beyond 20 minutes.

If you’re considering a chemical peel, talk to your dermatologist or esthetician about how a Bel Mondo bio cellulose mask will fit into your after-care plan.
